WRF2 : We Are Family Too

Family is more than just blood, in fact some times you can have blood relationships with people but not consider them part of your real “family”. My parents and brother are family, my kids are, of course, but so is my partner and a couple of my closest friends.

I know I’d like you to tell us that family means to you by filling in the form, but not everyone thinks verbally. Some people think in pictures, and can express themselves in pictures.

So if you want to tell us what family means to you visually, you know Postsecret style, please do so.

Postsecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a postcard. I’d like to see a Postfamily, send in (anonymously if you like) what “Family” means to you.

The theme of Dublin Pride 2010 is “We are Family Too”.

But what does “Family” mean? For some people its the traditional Mom and Pop with their two point five children.

To others is a sprawling group spanning several generations and those important events where the family gets together it resembles a UN assembly, but with a lot more shouting and hand waving, and that’s just the adults.

For others its a collection of trusted people, even if there isn’t a biological connection between them.

“Family” means a lot of different things. What does family mean to you?
